The Friends of the Library will be hosting a special event on Tuesday, June 25, at 6:00 p.m. at The Depot. They will be hosting Helen Collins, one of the original Harvey House Girls. The Harvey Houses were run by the railroad and served food fast with linen table cloths and crystal. Passengers selected their food from a menu while on the train, it was telegraphed ahead to the restaurant, and was ready when the train pulled into the station. Come and learn about a piece of our Butler County history as there is a Harvey House located in Florence, KS.
