The City of El Dorado’s Municipal Yard Waste Composting Facility is open to the citizens of El Dorado as well as Butler County residents year round for the disposal of all forms of yard waste including brush and limbs. Currently the site is open from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday thru Friday, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday.
By the close of the 20th century the City of El Dorado will have successfully diverted nearly 4,000 tons of yardwaste from entering the Butler County Landfill.
The material that is collected is then processed and returned to residents free of charge.
Currently the only problem with this program is keeping up with supply and demand of the compost and wood chips.
