OBTAINING A CONTRACTOR’S LICENSE

The City of El Dorado requires all Electrical, Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors to be licensed prior to beginning work. To obtain a license you will need the following:

1. A certified Master in your company.

2. Current Certificate of Insurance with at least $500,000 in General Liability coverage.

3. The fee for a new Contractor’s License is $200. Renewal fees are $50.00 biennially. An expired Contractor's License can be re-issued, but as a new license with a fee of $200.00.

4. For the certified workers, the fees are $20.00 for each Master and $10.00 for each Journeyman. The same fees apply for the biennially renewals. The following items are also needed from each individual:

The Block/Experior/Prometric certificate

A current photo I.D.

Current address and phone number

Proof of required continuing education
