El Dorado Volunteer Fire Department

With the approval of the El Dorado City Commission on February 21, 1995, the El Dorado Volunteer Fire Organization was created under the direction of the El Dorado Fire Department. The El Dorado Volunteer Fire Department consists of highly trained and dedicated individuals that assist the City of El Dorado Fire Department in providing fire service to the community. Members of the volunteer department are involved in a vigorous in-house training program. Volunteers are expected to attend the organizational and training sessions that take place the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, excluding December. Volunteers are expected to meet the same competencies as those of the paid department. Volunteer members, in addition to in-house training, are encouraged to participate in other fire service training seminars outside of the El Dorado Fire Department. Most of these training sessions are at o cost to the individual.
