The chief of the fire department shall be responsible for and have control over the care and condition of the fire apparatus and equipment and firefighting personnel. It shall be his duty to see that all such apparatus and equipment is ready at all times for immediate use. The Uniform Fire Code shall be enforced by the fire chief and the department's members.
