Under the terms of this chapter, the city shall, subject to the conditions hereinbefore mentioned, respond to and furnish firefight-ing services upon request of the officers and agents of the township or upon call from any resident of such township covered hereby, for protection of property of any such resident or property located in the township, or portion thereof, outside the city limits of the city.
