Chapter 2.28 CITY PLANNING COMMISSION
2.28.030 Membership.
The city planning commission shall consist of nine electors of which two
members shall reside outside of but within three miles of the corporate limits
of the city, the remaining members shall be residents of the city. All members
shall be appointed by the mayor by and with the consent of the city
commissioners. In order to reduce the number of planning commissioners from
thirteen (13) to nine, two commissioners whose term expires on April 1, 2001
shall not be replaced and their positions eliminated. The other commissioner
whose term expires on April 1, 2001 shall be reappointed or replaced and the
expiration of that commissioner's term shall be April 1, 2004. Two of the
commissioners whose term expires on April 1, 2003 shall have their terms
extended to April 1, 2004 (DeForest and Acklin). Members shall be appointed to
terms of three years each. Vacancies shall be filled by appointment for the
unexpired term only. Members of the planning commission shall serve without
compensation. No member of the commission shall serve more than two consecutive
