2.36.100 Tax levy--Library fund.

The governing body is authorized to levy a tax for the maintenance of the city library in such sum as the library board shall determine within the limitations fixed by law. Such tax shall be levied and collected in like manner as other taxes of the city and shall be kept in a separate fund to be known as the library fund of the city. Except where otherwise provided by law, the city treasurer, upon receiving a certificate signed by the chairman and secretary of the library board to the effect that the person named in such certificates has been duly elected as treasurer and has given bond required by law, shall pay over to the treasurer of the library board all funds collected for the maintenance of the library. The treasurer of the library board shall pay out said funds only on orders of the board signed by the secretary and chairman thereof. (Prior code § 2-211)
