Upon conviction of a violation of any of the provisions of this chapter, such person, firm or corporation shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and sentenced to pay a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment not to exceed six months or by both such fine and imprisonment.
