Chapter 5.12 MERCHANT POLICE SERVICES
5.12.060 Permits.
Permits shall be issued by a licensed merchant police service to each
employee employed as a merchant police officer, and within twenty-four (24)
hours of issuing the permit the merchant police service shall provide the
following information to the chief of police of the city or his or her designee,
upon forms provided by the chief of police concerning the individual to whom the
permit is issued:
A. Name, address, date of birth and social security
number;
B. One recent photograph, his or her fingerprints, and a history
of his or her residence and employment for the five years immediately preceding
the date of the permit being issued;
C. If the permittee will use his or
her own vehicle in the course of acting as a merchant police officer, a
description of such vehicle including a registration number
thereof;
D. Such other information as the chief of police may reasonably
deem necessary. (Prior code § 6-1004)
