Before any license has been granted for a vehicle under the provisions of this chapter, the owners or operator shall file with the city clerk an insurance policy providing for insurance for bodily injury and property damage coverage for each vehicle in an amount not less than required under the Kansas Financial Responsibility Laws. The cancellation or other termination of any insurance policy issued for or in compliance with the provisions hereof shall automatically terminate any license issued for the operation of the vehicle covered by such insurance policy, unless another insurance policy shall be provided and approved and in full force and effect at the time such cancellation or termination becomes effective.
