6.20.090 Fee schedule.

There is fixed and assessed the following fees to defray the cost of managing an animal control program and for the public health, against the owner or keeper of every animal kept in the city; at such time that fee adjustments may be required to maintain a neutral “at cost” relationship, Appendix A incorporated herein by reference may be amended by resolution of the city council:

A. Standard Licensing Fee.

6.  More than 4 violations by any pet or combination thereof owned by the same person in three years or less shall be $500.00 for each impoundment thereafter.


D. Boarding and Quarantine Fees. In addition to the impoundment fee, a boarding fee must be paid for each animal confined by the animal shelter. Such fees will be charged for daily costs of boarding, excluding the first day of impoundment. Owners must pay daily boarding fees, the amount established by policy, for the housing and care of the animals before their animals are released to them.

Quarantine fees covering ten-day boarding and observation period shall be set by policy and paid before release of the animal. No initial impound fee shall be added to quarantine fees. In addition to impoundment fee(s) the boarding of estrays shall include the first day of boarding and such daily fee shall be set by policy if the estray if held by the animal control authority or if held by a third person contracting party, fees shall be set in the contract between the city and that party at the current fair and reasonable rate.

E. Expenses of Animal. In addition to other fees, the owner shall also pay for any veterinarian or drug fees incurred for the animal(s) while in the custody of the animal control officer or animal shelter.
