Chapter 8.04 REFUSE COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL
8.04.130 Unlawful acts.
A. It is unlawful for any person to:
1. Burn garbage anywhere in
the city;
2. Permit refuse to be accumulated in, buried in or upon any
private premises or public grounds of the city, except as refuse
may
be accumulated, made ready for collection and disposed of as provided in this
chapter;
3. Burn any substance in a container which is used as a refuse
receptacle;
4. Sweep, deposit or place any refuse or debris in the
streets, alleys, gutters or public ways of the city or into any open place on
such premises, and it shall be the duty of such owner or occupant to collect and
dispose of such refuse or debris in the same manner as provided in this
chapter;
5. Deposit refuse in any commercial or business container other
than that owned or leased by him or her or under his or her control and then
only refuse which is generated at such person's place of
business;
6. Interfere in any manner with employees of the city in the
performance of their duties under this chapter;
7. Dispose of refuse in
violation of KSA 65-3409.
B. Nothing contained in this section shall
prevent the burning of refuse, other than garbage, as is permitted under the
Fire Prevention Code adopted by the city. (Ord. G-636 § 2, 1990; prior code
