In addition to the remedies provided in this chapter for the prevention, removal or abatement of nuisances, any person who shall fail to perform any of the duties imposed upon him by this chapter by permitting or maintaining any nuisance to exist in or on any premises owned by him or under his control shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined in any sum not exceeding one hundred dollars ($100.00); provided, that the municipal judge may after conviction of any such person grant a parole therefrom on condition that the nuisance be abated or removed within not to exceed thirty (30) days.
