There is adopted by the city for the purpose of prescribing regulations governing conditions hazardous to life and property from fire, hazardous materials or explosion, that certain code known as the Uniform Fire Code, including Appendix Chapters IA through VI-1 and Appendix Standards complete, published by the International Fire Code Institute, being particularly the 1997 edition and save and except such portions as are hereinafter deleted, modified or amended by Section 8.24.091, one copy of which has been and is on file in the office of the clerk of the city of El Dorado, Kansas, and the same is adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein, and from the date on which the ordinance codified in this chapter shall take effect, the provisions thereof shall be controlling within the limits of the city.
