Chapter 15.20 ELECTRICAL CODE
15.20.030 Amendments to National Electric Code.
The following subsections are amendments to sections of the National
Electric Code and appendix incorporated by reference in Section 15.20.020 of
this chapter.
A. Amending National Electric Code Section 336-18 to
read:
336-18 Supports. All interior non metallic-sheathed cable A.W.G. No. 6 and
smaller shall be secured by insulated fasteners, insulated staples, cable ties,
or straps. Supports must be so designed and installed as not to damage the
cable. Cable shall be secured in place at intervals not exceeding 4 1/2 feet
(1.37m) and within 12 inches (305mm) from every cabinet, box, or fitting. Two
conductor cables shall not be stapled on edge. Cables run through holes in wood
or metal joists, rafters, or studs shall be considered secured.
