15.24.010 Definitions.

Words and phrases as used in this chapter shall have the following meanings unless the context otherwise requires:

"Electrical contractors" means those persons, firms or corporations who are licensed and have in their employ persons who are qualified and equipped to serve the public in the installation, repairing and maintenance of electrical wiring and the installation of appliances, fixtures, motors and other apparatus using electrical current.

"Electrical wiring" means the installation, repair and replacement of wiring of buildings and structures for the use of electrical current for electrical appliances, fixtures, motors and other apparatus and equipment using electrical current.

"Helper electrician" means a person who is licensed to learn the electrical trade under the on-site direct supervision of a journeyman or master electrician, under the employ of an electrical contractor.

"Journeyman electrician" means any person qualified to repair and maintain electrical wiring and, under the employ of a licensed electrical contractor, to install any electrical wiring and devices.

"Master electrician" means a person who is qualified and experienced to properly lay out, plan and serve the public on the installation, repairs and maintenance of electrical wiring, appliances, fixtures and motors and other apparatus requiring electrical current.

"Supervision requirements" means:

1. Helper electricians must be under the direct, on-site supervision of a master or journeyman electrician at all times;

2. Journeyman electricians may work without direct on-site supervision, but with the general supervision of a master electrician.
