Chapter 15.24 BOARD OF ELECTRICAL APPEALS
15.24.020 Board of electrical appeals--Creation--Members.
There is created a board of electrical appeals which shall consist of five
members. Two members shall be certified electrical contractors as defined in
this chapter; one member shall be a certified master electrician as defined in
this chapter; one member shall be an employee of an electrical utility service
provider serving the city; and one member shall be a resident citizen at large,
who is not engaged in the business of electrical wiring and is not an employee
of an electrical utility service provider. All such members shall be appointed
by the city manager with their office to commence on the date the ordinance
codified in this section becomes effective and they shall serve an initial term
until March 1, 1999; thereafter, the term of office for each member shall be for
a period of three years. Any vacancies shall be filled by the city manager to
complete the term of the member creating such vacancy. No member shall serve
more than two consecutive terms.
The citizen at large member of the
board shall serve as chairman and the board shall meet upon his call or the call
of the El Dorado building official. The building official shall serve as
secretary. The board shall adopt internal rules and regulations as business may
require. The secretary shall have the custody of the records of the board and
preserve the minutes of the meeting. The duties of the board shall include, but
not be limited to, deciding appeals from decisions of the building official,
determining revocations of certificates pursuant to code Section 15.24.120,
recommending code changes to the governing body and undertaking such other
duties and responsibilities that the governing body may assign to it. (Ord.
