Any persons not engaged in the business of plumbing or gas piping installation, within the scope of this chapter, who has in his/her exclusive employ a person or persons who possess current and valid master plumbing or gas fitter licenses shall be permitted to have such person or persons maintain the plumbing and gas fitting systems or otherwise perform plumbing and gas fitting work on buildings or premises that are owned, leased or managed by him or her. This shall not be construed however to allow the installation of plumbing or gas fitting systems or devices in new buildings or construction or in additions to existing buildings. Permits shall be obtained for such work as required by this chapter and same shall be issued to the person causing the work to be done. (Ord. G-770 § 3 (part), 1993: prior code § 5-513)
