| Public Utilities Department The Public Utilities Department is responsible for the City's water, including
supply, treatment and distribution. It is also responsible for sewer, including sanitary sewer collection and treatment at the Wastewater
Treatment Facility.
The Utilities Department operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with either personnel on-duty or on-call.
We urge citizens with sewer backup problems to call 316-321-9100 before calling a plumber. We will check the City sewer first - at no expense
to the customer - to assist in the elimination of the problem.
Contact the Utilities Department at 316-321-9100 or email Utilities Director Kurt Bookout at
wildcat@eldoks.com for more information on the following:
- To have your water turned off at any time of the day or night for the repair of plumbing problems (service provided at no cost).
- To report water quality problems, or questions concerning water or wastewater.
- To schedule individual or group tours of the water or wastewater treatment facilities. Changing security requirements have compelled the
City to restrict access to the Water Treatment Plant unless by appointment.
